The Back-End: Working with Omeka
Now that you understand what Omeka does in an abstract sense, what does it look like when you're actually building your Omeka site? Similar to platforms like Wordpress, Omeka is made up of a "front-end" (public sites) and a "back-end" which requires a login to enter. This backend (or admin interface) is where you will create your items and item sets, manage users, and design your site.
Watch this short video to get a feel for the "lay of the land" for Omeka's admin interface.
If you want to get a hands-on example of working with the site, head over the Omeka S Sandbox to try it out yourself.
