Title

Foxgloves Blooming In Anderson Bay

Description

Original LinoCut by Greta Guzek of a small log cabin in the middle of some woods. Purple, black, and white.

Next to the LinoCut is a poem by Mavis Jones 'Foxgloves Blooming In Anderson Bay':
"FOXGLOVES BLOOMING IN ANDERSON BAY
The forest coils
around old logging cables
a rusted Cat, trucks
upholstered with moss

Cedars lean through shaked roofs
and empty windows:
it is quiet enough now
for a deer to walk through
nipping at thimbleberry

I listen for a voice
to tell me how it was then,
perhaps a woman planting foxgloves,
each year increasing
through the empty outer spaces:
lady's colours, pink and mauve

But I can only guess:
in the dusk
these last pastel spikes,
straight-backed among the nettles
and the devil's club"
