Description
At Stonehenge and Avebury title page and the poem 'Stonehenge'.
"
Stonehenge
There is so much in this small space
An architecture or some giant clock
A tuning itself
Forever to
Our nature
In nature
Close to unconscious
And in this pre-Gregorian
Walk
The clock
was
The public monument
Everyone used
Before there were Non-Spaces
And homeless
People
If you had no map
Then you could reach out
To the stars
The sun filtered
Through
Within this small
Space
That hangs under the arc
Of the sky
In this place of many stones
time loses time
in a Drift of Atmosphere
We dissolve here like
Mere components
To the stars
We are dumb waiters of Life itself
Shovelling our purpose
Forward onto a plate
This topography
As if we knew something
About the World itself
