Biography
Attila Richard Lukacs is a painter who was born in Edmonton, Alberta, and grew up in Calgary. Lukacs briefly attended the University of Victoria in the fine arts program, but decided to enroll in the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in 1983. Lukacs had his first solo exhibition in 1983 at the Unit/Pitt Gallery in Vancouver, the exhibit was titled 'Prime Cuts'. In 1985 Lucaks graduated from Emily Carr and in 1986 he moved to Berlin, there he had a studio residency at the Kunstlerhaus Bethanien. In 1996 Lukacs moved to New York, and had several shows, but returned to Canada in 2002.
