Biography

Garry Graham has routinely participated in promoting ceramics in a variety of regional shows, annual gallery invitational exhibitions, artworks, fundraising events, and solo exhibits. He has developed his practice through a formal arts education at David Thompson University, a practical background of self-directed clay experiences, a work study sojourn to France, and observational studies in the Middle East.
Since receiving the BC Potter’s Guild’s David Lambert Student Award in 1980, his work has continued to gain recognition in competitions, has been selected for the Winnipeg Art Gallery’s Studio Ceramics Collection. He has operated his studio in the Kootenay since 1986. 
His skill in constriction and knowledge of equipment in clay studios has contributed to part of a new campus at the Kootenay School of Arts, where he works as a studio head and part time instructor.
