Biography
Jay MacLennan took ceramics at high school with noted Burnaby sculptor and potter, Keith Rice-Jones, and went on to study at Emily Carr College of Art and Design with Tam Irving, during Tam's last year at ECCAD. A fine functional potter in the Leach/ Mingei school, Jay and his wife Sandy Lum worked together for a number of years before their children were born ,and sold through Circle Craft Co-op. Jay also sold and exhibited through the Gallery of BC Ceramics. Jay started to work for The Shadbolt as a studio tech alongside of Linda Doherty in the early 1990s and is still there as one of the main supports of the excellent Shadbolt ceramic programme.
