Kate Metten is among a recent generation of young artist/ceramicists in Vancouver influenced by modernism and Bauhaus design, and she has created a line of disciplined and considered pottery. Kate is a sophisticated artist, having graduated from Emily Carr (Paul Mathieu) after having studied at Concordia and Penland Universities. She has attended residencies in Germany, Denmark and Vancouver, and has a long catalogue of exhibitions. She also paints and engages in sculptural and theoretical practices such as colour theory and visual perception.
