Biography
Fred Owen founded the Ceramics Department at Douglas College in New Westminster in 1970 and was still the head instructor in 1980. (Dates are unknown). Many potters studied with Fred or Kyber Dancer as he became known later in the 1980s. He was considered a mentor. Gillian McMillan, Jeannie Sarich and Laura, Lumlamelut Wee Láy Láq were among his students.
He often gave workshops for the Potters Guild of BC and served on their Board. He exhibited at the House of Ceramics and was invited into the Retrospect 80 exhibition.
