Biography

American born, Arlynn Nobel is a long-time resident of Canada. As a ceramics major at Sheridan College, Oakville, Ontario, she received the Graduate Exhibition Award for “Best in Show”. She received her BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design. In 2007, Arlynn represented Canada as an artist in residence at the Goshogawara International Woodfiring Festival in Aomori, Japan, with work in the permanent collection of the Tsugaru Kanayama Gallery. After earning her MFA in ceramics from University of Mass Dartmouth in 2011, Arlynn taught at both Harvard Ceramics and Mudflat Studio in Boston. Arlynn is currently on the board at Watershed Centre for the Ceramic Arts in Newcastle, Maine. In the spring of 2021, Arlynn’s work made the cover of Pottery Making Illustrated, featuring a six-page article describing her artistic process.
Arlynne teaches at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts.
