Biography
English born, Clive Tucker is a ceramist working in Port Moody.
In 1993 he landed in Durness, Scotland to apprentice with Lotte Glob at The Far North Pottery. He immigrated to Ontario in 1994, and was very successful selling production pottery to over 20 shops in Ontario. He also taught classes at the Burlington Art Centre. In 1998 he moved to Vancouver and to go to Emily Carr Art School and graduated from there in 2000.
He was invited to be the Artist in Residence at the Port Moody Arts Centre. He worked there until 2008.
Stepping out on his own, Clive opened up his own studio in 2008 where he continues to run his studio pottery. It has a small showroom And is open for a few sales each year and by appointment. He used to also sell and exhibit at the Gallery of BC Ceramics. He is well known for his unexpected and whimsical sculptures and pots, and for his handsome refillable beer Growlers. For over a decade Clive has become the go-to freelance kiln repair technician in the lower mainland.
And he still makes wild and whimsical sculptures and excellent cups.
