Biography

Andy Blick was a formidable designer, and highly skilled slip cast potter. He studied ceramics at Harrow School of Art in London, and he studied in Denmark. His first studio was in Ireland working in porcelain and saltglazed porcelain, . He moved to Vancouver in 1979. Andy was a rare practitioner, in BC, of fine slipcast ceramics (porcelain). He made tiles, architectural moulding and individual clay projects. He sold his clean crisply designed ceramics worldwide from the Andy Blick Studio, however, unfortunately, his work was rarely seen in Vancouver which meant that the quality of his production was not recognized or appreciated in time, before his death in 2012. He was a good friend with the English potter, Walter Keeler.
