Biography
Kinichi Shigeno, after receiving extensive training in Japan immigrated to Canada in 1981. He brought with him his skills as cobalt painter, and embellishes his fine pottery with intricate designs. He has lived, taught and worked in Richmond since 1984, exhibited widely in Canada and internationally in Japan, Italy, China, USA and New Zealand. His work has received recognition; the 2009 the BC Creative Achievement Award, a Circle Craft Scholarship and a Canada Council Travel Grant in 1997.
Kinichi has sold through the Gallery of BC Ceramics, and attends the Circle Craft Co-op Christmas Craft Fair, and shop.
