Biography
Spanish born Lluis Riera came from a family in the tile making business. From 1965 -1972 he studied under Ramon Caret, at the Art School of Tarragoma in Spain. He also studied in Perugula in Italy.
He came to Vancouver in 1977, worked with various potters, and then joined the Clayworks Society from 1980-1984. He was also the ceramics tech, in the early 1980s, at the Burnaby Arts Centre (Late the Shadbolt Centre.). He set up his own tile business in Vancouver where he made tiles and large terracotta vessels. Lluis returned home to Spain in the late 1980s and set up his own pottery - Ceramica Riera in Gratallops.
