Biography

Laurie Rolland lives in Sechelt, BC. She graduated with honours from Sheridan College , Ontario, in 1978.
Laurie has received several Canada Council grants, exhibition awards, and widespread recognition. Commentary on her work can be found in many publications and it is held in many public collections.
Laurie has been a juror, a presenter at symposiums in BC, Ontario and Australia and has taught and given workshops across Canada. Her work has been included in traveling exhibitions across North America, Japan, and Australia, including the Gardiner Museum’s Invitational Earthworks Exhibition in Germany, and selected for international exhibitions in Taiwan, Australia, the US, and four times in Korea. Her work was included in the important exhibition in BC- 'Hot Clay, Sixteen West Coat Ceramic Artists.' She sold and exhibited through the Gallery of BC Ceramics.
Laurie was elected to the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts in 2004.
