Biography
Gary Cherneff began ceramics in 1970 at the Northwest Handicraft House in North Vancouver, learning under an American, Skip Miller, who had studied under Daniel Rhodes., at Alfred University.
In 1975 Gary moved to Saltspring Island to become a full time production potter, and has become, much like his friend, Lari Robson, and others around the province - a 'village potter' serving his community.
