Biography
From 1968 to 1993 Janet Kidnie was a supportive presence - a member and volunteer for the Potters Guild of BC. She was a paid office manager and newsletter editor from 1988-93. Her husband used to video PGBC workshops in the 1980/90s, sadly they were destroyed.
Jan first took classes at the Burnaby Arts Centre from 1968-70 with Byron Johnston, and then at Capilano College from 1977-79 with Donna MacLaren and later with Jim Thornsbury and Sam Kwan. Jan attended many workshops and events, and also worked at Pegs Place Pottery. In the early 1980s she established her own studio in her garage. She has continued to attend ceramic openings and events and often serves as a 'memory' for BC ceramics.
