Biography
A graduate from the Vancouver School of Art, Gertrude Weir also attended ceramic workshops in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, London (UK) and New York (Alfred). Her work ranged from figurines to free-form plates and wheel thrown vessels which she produced in her home studio, which by 1952 was equipped with a kiln and 2 potter's wheels. She was one of 11 BC potters mentioned in "Pottery in Canada" (Canadian Geographical Journal, February, 1944) and was featured in Western Homes and Living magazine (Dec, 1952)
