Biography
Joseph Mihalik danced for the Hungarian National Ballet before immigrating to Canada. He took pottery classes at the Ross Hughye school of Pottery, and with Don Hutchinson at the VSA. He was well known for his large skillfully thrown lamps, Don Hutchinson threw lamps at his studio. One of Joseph's pots was selected for the cover of the PGBC publication, 1998 Made of Clay.
He sold his work at Marie-Claire Von Hausmann's gallery and shop, ‘The Earthen Things’, in Richmond, BC., between 1973 - 76. Participated in the 'Art in the Garden' tour in North Vancouver in 2000. Mihalik returned to Hungary sometime after 2010.
