Biography
• Art started working in clay in 1967, and
In the 1970's he spent two years training
intensely under the ceramic pioneer Luke
Lindoe in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
• Walter Dexter was his ceramics
teacher at the Kootenay School of Art in
the 1970's with the Jam Factory Pottery
Collective.
• In 1974, he relocated to Victoria where
he worked alongside Walter Dexter.
• Art transitioned to painting in the
1990’s.
• He mostly fired cone 10 gas fired.
• This signature and chop mark are from the
early 1970’s from Nelson at the Jam Factory
Pottery Collective.
