Description
Fromhold was born in Russia of Swedish-Irish parents and educated in Europe. He came to Vancouver around 1950 and worked as a furniture designer and interior design consultant. He discovered a new career in ceramics after taking F. Carlton Ball's workshop through the UBC Extension Department in August 1955.
He moved to California ca 1957 to study with Ball at the University of Southern California.
He established studios in Los Angeles (ca 1960-1967) and later in Arizona. He taught, exhibited, and sold his work across the US.
