Biography
After a rigorous apprenticeship in Europe (1943-ca 1950), Baanders came to Vancouver in 1951. Shortly after arrival until the mid-50s, she worked at Lambert Potteries. She was well-known as a teacher at the UBC Extension Department (early 60s), Ross-Huyghe School (1966-ca1970), and at her own studio in Richmond (1970-1985). Her work centred on utilitarian vessels like mixing bowls and other kitchen ware.
