Description
Originally from Illinois, Southward lived in California and Oregon before establishing a studio on Salt Spring Island in 1967 and a studio/gallery with Bertha Martin in Mill Bay in 1974.
For the first few years she sold her work locally and at the Handloom in Victoria (1971- 74); later through her Mill Bay studio (1974) and craft shop (1976) She taught ceramics at the Salt Spring Island School of Fine Art in 1974.
