Description
In the 1950s, Van Alderwegen studied at the Central School (London), worked in the studio of Marianne de Trey (Dartington) and taught at the Watford Technical School. After her arrival in Canada in 1958, she was a production potter at Ceramics Arts in Calgary (1960), taught with the Edmonton Potters' Guild (1961-62; 1964-68) and the Extension Faculty of the University of Alberta (1968-78). During her time in Alberta she exhibited extensively in Edmonton and nationally. Around 1983, she relocated her studio to Cobble Hill, BC and exhibited in the Victoria area until ca 2002.
