Doug Taylor was one of the founders of Pottery Works, along with Jack Olive. It burnt down and the studio moved to Richmond, BC, and briefly to Granville Island., Daniel Materna took over the studio. Taylor was a studio technician at Emily Carr College when it first moved to Granville Island in 1980. Taylor stopped working in clay and has become involved in wind mobiles.
