Biography
Maria Palotas born in Budapest, Hungary. During the years 1968-1981 she studied Arts and Sculpture at the Huber Desi and Ferenczy Beni Fine Arts Studio in Budapest. She also had a two year apprenticeship with Ari Lakatos, at the Andrea Kiss Studio in Budapest.
Maira immigrated to Canada and she founded her current studio, MariPottery in 2003. Her influences have been her mentor, Ari Lakatos, Pueblo, Hungarian and Greek Arts and Crafts.
Maira sold though the Gallery of BC Ceramics and has exhibited at the Port Moody Art Gallery and is a member of the Tri-Cities Potters Guild.
