Biography
Encouraged by John Reeve, Vincent Massey spent five years at the Farham Art College in England, studying traditional English and Japanese methods of stoneware pottery, including wood, salt, and raku firing techniques. He has a brief apprenticeship with Michael Cardew in Cornwall, England, which influenced his slab work. Other Influences / teachers Takeshi Yasuda, Henry Hammond, Walter Keeler, and Wayne Ngan on Hornby Island.
In 1985 Vincent moved to Whistler BC to set up his home and studio. A superb technician, he has taught throwing, slab and extrusion workshops all over BC. He has sold and exhibited through the Gallery of BC Ceramics, and Crafthouse, Vancouver.
