Biography

Haejin Lee worked as a ceramic artist in Seoul, South Korea for over ten years. She graduated from Hong-Ik University with an MFA in ceramic art, and during her time working on her degree she was scouted by Kwangjuyo, a renowned traditional Korean ceramics company in South Korea.
Haejin Lee has also worked as the head designer in the design department at ‘Modern-Line’, with a team dedicated to developing styles that combined traditional Korean ceramics shapes with a modern sensibility.
Her work has won many international awards, including at the MINO International Ceramics Competition, the Hagi Taisho Grand Prix of Contemporary Ceramics, the Cheongju International Craft Competition and the Taiwan Ceramics Biennale. In addition, Hae Jin’s work won the Grand Prize at the Seoul Contemporary Ceramic Competition.
Haejin cam to Vancouver in 2012, sold through the Gallery of BC Ceramics, and her work is represented in many shops in British Columbia.
