Biography
Martha James is a long-established production potter, working in stoneware and porcelain in her Quadra Island studio , where she has been working with husband, Gordon James, since 1979. She received her BFA from the University of Calgary, studied art history in Florence, and in Banff. In 1984 Martha's entry of dinnerware was a finalist for a national competition “The Perfect Setting" and was included in a year-long traveling exhibition. She has participated exhibitions across Canada , and in 2009 “Surface Tension”, a solo exhibition at Campbell River Art Gallery
