Biography

Elaine Futterman was born in Los Angeles, California.
She graduated from the University of California Berkeley,1969 with a BSc and immigrated to Canada 1969. She took courses at Douglas College, Capilano College, the University of California Santa Cruz, and at Metchosin International School of the Arts.(MISSA)
She has also taken numerous workshops with Gordon Hutchens, Cathi Jefferson, Robin Hopper, Walter Dexter, Reid Ozaki, Fred Owen and Nancy Starr.
Elaine and Mike Allegretti established their present day Creek Clayworks studio in Roberts Creek, BC in 1990. Elaine and Mike have a particular interest in firing their propane salt kiln. She has participated in many shows in Vancouver and on the Sunshine Coast and exhibited through the Gallery of BC Ceramics.
