Biography
In 1967 Judi Dyelle graduated with honours from the Ontario College of Art. She was awarded the Lieutenant Governor’s Medal of Excellence.
After graduating she received a Canada Council Grant and spent a year and a half traveling in Japan and studied with Tatsuzo Shimaoka
When Judi returned to Canada, she began teaching pottery in Toronto and continued teaching in Vancouver, Montreal and Victoria. Judi was invited to participate in an International Ceramic Festival and exhibition in Mokpo, Korea.
In 1984 Judi and husband Robin Hopper founded both the collective, ‘Fired Up! Contemporary Works in Clay’, and the Metchosin International Summer School of the Arts (MISSA), both remain active.
Judi is known for her delicate filigree porcelain. Her work is in many private and public collections
