Biography
In 1971 Sandra Dolph obtained a BS in Art Education from New York State University College. She taught at the Adirondack Center for the Arts and owned and operated a gallery in upstate New York. In 1974 Sandra immigrated to Canada and homesteaded in the B.C. Rockies, where she taught and ran a clay studio, making salt/wood fired pottery. She has hosted workshops and has conducted numerous Raku workshops at her studio on Galiano.
In the spring of 1998 she started her annual visits to Japan, where she spends a third of each year, studying, making pots, and meditating in a Zen Buddhist temple. She sold her work through the Gallery of BC Ceramics. Her work is represented in galleries Her work is represented at Circle Craft on Granville Island and at Avenue Gallery in Oak Bay, Victoria.
