Biography
Les Crimp established a pottery studio in Nanoose Bay in the 1990s, upon retirement. An affable and well-loved founding member of the Arrowsmith Potters Guild (founded 1995)Les was passionate about pottery. He was the instigator for establishing a pottery hub for the mid island area, by approaching BC Rail to secure a long-term low-cost lease on a vintage railway station in Parksville. It was restored and remains the Arrowsmith Guild's home base to this day.. He was also fundamental in facilitating the 2005 Potters Masters Symposium organized by the Potters Guild of BC as part of their 50th anniversary, for a very successful event that took place in Parksville. By age of 80 Les had to stop throwing and started to write pulp western novels - a genre he had always loved.
