Biography
Mike Allegretti, and his wife, Elaine Futterman, run the Creek Clayworks . They are both skilled potters who serve the community of Roberts Creek and the Sunshine Coast. They work mainly in gas fired salt glaze as well as high fired oxidation.and salt glaze.
Mike first took pottery classes at Capilano College in 1983/84. He retired from schoolroom teaching in 2002 and took up full-time studio work. He sold through the Gallery of BC Ceramics. Mike makes large slab sculptural constructions and uses slip trailing as a decorative element.
