Biography
Braim started her pottery career around 1955 with instruction at the University of BC Extension Department, first with Rex Mason and later with Thomas Kakinuma. She attended UBC workshops given by Louis Archambault in 1959 (ceramics and sculpture) and by John Reeve in 1961. Between 1957 and 1963 she exhibited in many of the major Canadian ceramics exhibitions and also exhibited and sold work through the Canadian Handicrafts Guild (Montreal) and at the Canadian National Exhibition (Toronto), winning awards at both. She was well-known for producing casseroles and often decorated her work using wax resist. In 1964, the Canadian Government Exhibition Commission purchased one of her bowls for exhibiting abroad.
